A single printer is available for use; the cost to print is 50 cents per document. The area is manned by an IT professional daily between the hours of 9 a.m. This is also where cruisers can purchase internet packages, which are 100 minutes for $75 or 250 minutes for $125.

The new scrubber technology reduces the equivalent of approx 1500 tons of the poisonous gas Sulfur Oxide. NCL was the first cruise company to retrofit with a scrubber hybrid system vessels while in service. The new in-line scrubbers (5 units) are lightweight and able to operate in a dry mode, as well as in open and closed loops. In 2007 the NCL company announced they will permanently relocate the vessel from Hawaii due to substantial revenue losses. The vessel went to dry-dock for some changes (new livery, casino, new name) to become "Norwegian Jade". However, she still keeps her Hawaii-themed interior decor (many flowers and landscapes throughout onboard venues and public spaces).

We did not stay in the rest of these cabins, but we have summaries here provided by Norwegian Cruise Line. At just 140 square feet, our Inside cabin was very small and cramped. While adequate for a single passenger, a party of two will find these quarters short on elbow-room. Lined with wood veneer and a modicum of color accents, at least the cabin décor was attractive. With lots of them to fill, Jade’s Inside cabins are often available at very low prices, so we didn’t feel ripped off; Oceanview’s aren’t much larger, but we’d seriously consider a Balcony cabin on a future cruise. Jill Campbell, one of the passengers, told NBC News that she and her husband traveled through seven countries in 48 hours to catch up with the ship.
‘Missing Persons Day’ at Cook County Medical Examiner’s …
On the starboard side of the pool area there were sprayer nozzles that emitted a fine mist—when they were turned on. We found them utilized on one very hot afternoon in port, but on an equally sizzling sea day that followed they weren’t. Perched above the pool area on Deck 13 and in the guise of a rustic beach bar, Bali Hai was an al fresco drinkery with a grill offering a small selection of food items. Packages of 1-liter bottles of water were available—prices ranged from $2.91 each for a package of 24 to $3.66 each for 6 (regular price was $4.50). There were various drink offers availed throughout our cruise, announced in the Freestyle Daily newsletter, but sometimes the “bar manager’s specials” turned out to be the same as the standard price. Amstel Light, Beck’s, Dos Equis and Newcastle were available on draft.
On the good side, although our cabin was located far forward on a lower deck, we did not experience any major noise issues (as is often the case when not midship or on upper decks). There was a slight sound leak from the theater overhead, but considering the proximity, it wasn’t disturbing. While we made do, the constraint required compromise; for instance, there was a table in the room, but there was no logical place for the table to sit. Crowd control was an issue around the lobby, which was often jammed with guests in transit.
Dress Codes and Alcohol Policy
While we didn't find art we wanted to bring home, we did surf the web on a few occasions. Whether using the ship's computers or WiFi for our laptop, internet time was priced .75/minute, plus an initial $3.95 activation fee. The Life Style Room had funky orange chairs for reading or web surfing, but we barely saw this room used by anyone during the entire cruise.
Cabin Amenities
In addition to dozens of slot machines (some of which were open overnight), tables games included Blackjack, Let it Ride, Three Card Poker, Texas Hold ‘Em, Craps and Roulette. There were also automated machines for Poker and Roulette—the advantage (we were told) was being able to play faster (we think this meant lose money faster). The salad bar was an enticing spread that included the usual salad veggies plus a few more unusual items.
Standard closets each have a large top shelf (overtaken by life jacket storage) and one small shelf, which folds down from the wall and, unfortunately, cuts off about half of the available space for hanging clothes. The Jade was renovated last year and is in excellent condition - we did not spot any wear in the public spaces and very little in our cabin. The maintenance staff was very busy the duration of the cruise keeping things spotless. As like most other lines, NCL has reduced the cabin service to once a day.

Side dishes that arrived in separate skillets included rice, black beans, garlic mashed potatoes and fried bananas. Named for a style of Japanese cuisine prepared for an audience seated at a shared table that wraps around an iron griddle, Teppanyaki is Jade’s hottest ticket. Our cruise on Norwegian Jade was a mixed success, but definitely not without its attributes. We snagged a fairly inexpensive cabin visiting several very appealing Mediterranean ports, and looked forward to a sunny experience. As the majority of passengers on our cruise were European, smoking was quite prevalent. Indoors, cigarette, cigar and pipe smoking was allowed only in the casino and in the enclosed cigar lounge next to Magnums Champagne and Wine Bar, and we didn’t see any exceptions to this rule.
The beds were comfortable and the bathroom layout is good with more size than most ships. Hubby and I (both late 40's) were on the Jade (Nov 26 - Dec 10 sailing) without our four kids. We really love this size ship and have previously sailed her sister ship the Gem, as well the Epic, the Getaway and the Escape twice.
NCL was founded in 1966, headquartered in Miami (Florida USA) and publicly traded (NASDAQ) company listed on NYSE (NYC). NCLH's major shareholders are the corporations Apollo Global Management (American), Genting Group (Malaysian) and TPG Capital (American). In 2017, the brand NCL had a worldwide cruise market share 8,7% (passengers) and 8,4% (revenue). The ship offers 27 accessible cabins in a variety of categories for hearing or sight-impaired and wheelchair-bound passengers. TV programming includes a selection of movies and TV shows, plus a music channel, MSNBC, CNBC, BBC Worldwide, FOX News and ship-related channels that show location, general information and the view from a bridge cam. We were in an obstructed oceanview and found the cabin to have more than enough storage for two.
